2003
● Saturday Worship services were held at the clubhouse until a meeting room was
provided at AMF Bowling Lanes on Willow Creek Dr. Irving, TX. Pastor Howell
also began Bible study services on Tuesdays in his home.
● Our church family grew from the original five members, Bro. Binh Lam, Sis. Kelley
Watson, Bro. Donnie Tran, Min. Carol Williams, and Pastor Tyrone W. Howell, Jr.,
to include persons from various ethnicity and backgrounds. Our church is the
reflection of the five-fold ministry. Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:11, 12,
which reads, “And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some
evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for
the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” We represent
the glory of the Lord, who id God and Father of all.
● In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus admonishes us to feed the hungry, care for the
stranger, clothe the naked and visit those who are sick and in prison. Sis, Kelley
Watson diligently researched the opportunities available for the church to go out
and do the Lord’s work. Her efforts connected the church with three areas of
work.
● November 2003 - Union Gospel Mission (Dallas), where we go every fifth
Monday of each year to minister and serve dinner to the men who reside at the
mission. Our service has continued every year since 2003.

2004
● January 2004 - We connected with Pioneer Nursing Home and Rehabilitation
Center (Irving), currently named Avanti Rehabilitation Center (Irving). Each week
from 2004 to 2016, church members have Bible study to the residents.

2005
● October 2005 - Northgate Plaza Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center (Irving)
was another welcome addition where church members go to teach Bible study.
We rendered service there 2007.
● Due to the growth in the church, Saturday worship services were moved to a
meeting room at Super 8 Motel, 4245 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, TX. Soon after
moving to Super 8 Motel, the Lord directed Pastor Howell to establish Sunday
afternoon services, in addition to the Saturday night services.
● August 7, 2005 - The first Sunday afternoon worship service began. As the body
of believers continued to worship, praise, and study the Word, the Lord
continued to prosper.
● September 2005 – 2nd Annual Pastor and Church Anniversary
● December 17, 2005 - Our first worship service was held in at 2440 W. Irving Blvd,
Suite 160, Irving, TX. God has continued to shower us with his goodness, mercy,
and favor.
2006
● Minister Carol Williams organized the GED program, which will help adults, 18
and older, to complete their high school education. Additionally, began a process
of organizing a prison ministry to win more souls for the kingdom and minister to
the hurting.
● Our congregation has had the opportunity to hear many anointed men and
women of God preach and teach the Gospel. They have been ministers who
reside in Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, and various countries in Africa,
France and Switzerland.
● New musicians were added to our congregation.
● March 2006 – The Sword of the Spirit Praise Dance Ministry and Children’s
Ministry were organized.
● September 2006 – 3rd Annual Pastor and Church Anniversary
● September 30, 2006 - Min. Ben Kinchlow, formally of CBN, blessed us with a
message from God.

● December 22, 2006 - Our first talent show was held.

2007
● March 5, 2007 - Pastor Howell gave the invocation at Irving Independent School
Board meeting.
● April 2007 - Youth New Member/Ministry Training classes began.
● April 14, 2007 - The first annual “Spring Thing”. Eight souls were saved. A
proclamation was given by the Mayor of Irving, Herbert Gears. Various
ministries, television/radio stations, and recording artists such as Trip Lee,
Underground Priesthood, Christ for the Nations, and Richmond Punch joined to
use their gifts and talents to win souls to the Lord!
● April and May 2007 - TBN television station invited Sword of the Spirit Church
and Ministries as “Praise the Lord” program visitors.
● May 22, 2007 - Ordination and Licensing service for Elder Eshmael, Minister Veda
Miles and Minister Cherie Jeffery.
● May 24, 2007 - Pastor Howell gave the invocation at the swearing in ceremony of
the City of Irving’s new city council members.
● May 2007 - Pastor Howell performed the first Wedding Ceremony for a couple in
our church.
● June 2007 - First Dinner Theater- live cast and performances by church members,
writers, producers, actors/actresses, catering services, staging, and lighting.
● September 2007 – 4th Annual Pastor and Church Anniversary
2008

● June 2008 - Purchase of church bus and van to transport members and visitors to

● September 2008 - Trinity Broadcasting Network invited SOS Church and
Ministries to be a part of the “Praise the Lord” taping and sowed a $1,000 seed
to the church

● February 2009 - The Lord allowed Pastor Howell to bless many members of the
church with automobiles
● April 2009 - Third Annual Spring Thing with World renowned Skateboarder,
Pastor Christian Hosoi at Alliance Skatepark in Grand, Prairie, TX. Both Apostle
Howell and Pastor Christian Hosoi spoke to the attendees. Many young people
were saved and/or re-dedicated their lives to the Lord
● June 2009 - Through the vision that the Lord God showed to Pastor Howell,
partnered with Trinity Broadcasting Network and received the key to our new
30,000 plus square ft. church building (formerly Family Christian Bookstore),
3001 W. Irving Blvd., Irving, Texas 75062
● July 2009 - Ordination and Licensing of Min. Shawn Warren and Min. Zella
Richards
● September 2009 – 6th Annual Pastor and Church Anniversary and 2nd Annual
Pastor’s Appreciation Banquet
● October 2009 – While vacationing, Apostle Howell and Pastor Godefroy were
used by the Lord to resurrect a man from the dead. The man had been dead for
two hours
● November 2009 – Apostle is called to travel to Switzerland where the Lord uses
him to saves souls, perform many signs and wonders including financial
breakthroughs, deliverances from demonic oppression and possession and
healings during a conference/revival
● December 2009 – Apostle Richard Benjamin ordained Pastor Howell as Apostle
Tyrone W. Howell, Jr.

2010

● March to April 2010 – Apostle Howell is called to travel to Paris to bring the
Word. Crowds gather each time Apostle is scheduled to minister and are
witnesses to the awesome manifestation of miracles, deliverances, and healings
● Summer 2010 – Revival breaks out within Sword of the Spirit Church and
Ministries. The spirit takes Apostle Howell and those attending services higher
and higher in the Lord each time Apostle stands and proclaims what thus sayeth
the Lord

● January 2010 - Apostle Howell is called to Honduras to teach and preach the
Word. With the assistance of Prophet Michael Mainer, Apostle Howell travels to
various cities and villages in Honduras teaching and preaching the Word
● April to May 2010 - “Tearing Down the Wall” project - Completed renovation of
the church sanctuary to increase seating capacity
● May 2010 - Host Bishop George Bloomer as a speaker and special guest for a
three-day Warfare Conference
● August 2010 - Apostle Howell is again called to Honduras to teach and preach
the Word and help the host church establish a private church school. During the
services many are healed, included a young woman who was suffering from
Muscular Dystrophy. A team of teachers, members of Sword of the Spirit Church,
travel to Honduras with Apostle Howell to train Honduran teachers in curriculum
and instruction. The training is a success

● February 2018 – Youth Explosion featuring Apostle Howell, Apostle Marcio Alva,

● March 2018 – Apostle Howell attends Morris Cerullo meeting in Dallas, Texas
and passed his Spiritual Mantle for property acquisition to him
● August 2018 – Apostle Howell is called to Brazil to preach and teach the Word of
God. Like previous trips, crowds gather and increase in size each time Apostle is
scheduled to minister and are witnesses to the awesome manifestation of
